Selection of the Outstanding Enterprises for the Technical Skills Encouragement
Objective
We select and support businesses that promote skills in the industrial field to induce a continuous atmosphere of encouraging skilled individuals.
We aim to strengthen the social and economic status of the skilled.
Selection policy
- Selection of large companies, and small and medium enterprises by category
- For selected companies, we provide advantages such as waivers of regular labor supervision
Selection procedure
Eligibility
- A company, among those that fall under Article 11, Clause 1 of the Labor Standards Act, that has passed the period of 3 years or more as of the commencement date of the application, that has not been selected as the Outstanding Enterprises for the Technical Skills Encouragement in the past, or one where at least 5 years have elapsed since having been selected as a model business, with the following achievements:

- - Wage system and occupation design for skills improvement and encouragement.
- - Personnel system for the enhancement of skilled individuals within the company.
- - Building a learning organization to improve skills
- - Other projects such as improving the proposal system, promoting on-site inventions, participating in skills competitions
including private skills competitions, etc.
Selection criteria

Performance of giving benefits to skilled technicians
- - Contribution to the improvement of the social and economic status of skilled technicians such as recruitment, promotion,
remuneration and proposal system
- Proportion of beneficiaries of vocational competency development training (self, consignment, training in project, etc.)
- - competency development training results for all employees
- Employer’ efforts to improve skills
- Participation of skills competitions including private skills competition etc.
Areas and No. of Businesses
- Areas : Large companies and SMEs (separate evaluation)
- No. of selected companies : 5 or less
Benefits
- A certificate and name plate of Outstanding Enterprises for the Technical Skills Encouragement.
- Exemption from regular labor supervision for 3 years after selection.
- Preferential points granted when applying for SME learning organization support.
- Preferential points granted when applying for SME systematic on-the-job-training
- Priority support of HRD comprehensive service using Korea Industry Field professors
